Headaches!

I promise this isn't going to be a bitch session but I've had a headache for a solid 24 hours and it's driving me nuts. It's right at the back of my skull and feels like I need to constantly crack my neck. I've taken naproxen, ibuprofen and nothing seems to be helping. I woke up with it last night...ugh! I don't feel under stress but I'm sure with end of the year stuff and having to move rooms, there's underlying stress I'm not aware of. Nothing compared to what others are currently going through I'm sure (Diane especially...love you).

Okay so the other headache I have isn't really my headache but it's been put on my doorstep to try and help. I have a student whose parents/grandparents (guardians) are moving out of district. They have applied for open enrollment for their kid who will be a senior next year because they don't want him to have to change schools for his last year. The problem is that even though we have open enrollment, we really don't. The way it works is, around the new year, an email goes out asking employees how many of them living out of district will be sending their kids to our school. They then open just that many seats. Thus, anyone else gets screwed (not that I'm complaining...this is fine with me, really). Not sure what to tell the grandparents who emailed me asking if I'd put in a recommendation for their child. I'm actually tempted to tell these grandparents that they should wait until the second or third week of school to put in their change of address. That way, the child would have already started the school year and the district would let him finish it out. This is a good kid and I'd hate to see him go. What a pickle.

And you may be asking, why didn't they just wait to move until he had finished his senior year. Well, apparently, a couple came to their house where they were living and offered them above market value, cash. It was something they couldn't pass up apparently. And then the house they found, that they couldn't live without was just outside of our district. Can't say I blame them.

Lets see...what else? I've got nothing. Oh...got my filling redone yesterday at the dentist. I really dreaded this but let me tell you it was a breeze. First I was about a 1/2 hour early which was great because they took me in about 15 minutes early. I always worry about the shot of Novocaine and that didn't hurt at all. I didn't even feel a pinch. The actual filling only took about 15 minutes. I love my dentist. He did tell me that the tooth they worked on would eventually need a crown because it had some cracks but I can deal with that. So YAY!

Jim's going after work today to get me flowers for the boxes on my deck. He'll also pick up a couple ferns for the front and 2 hibiscus trees (they're only $15 at Kroger!). I'm hoping to plant Saturday...we'll see if the rain holds off long enough for me to do it. Jim needs to do some serious weeding this weekend and then we need to mulch. After that it'll be time to start shopping for redoing the laundry and 1/2 bath and mudroom. WOOT!
