Shower In The Rain

I went to take Sami for her walk this morning...hurrying to beat the rain.  I even looked at the radar...it showed rain just to the north and moving south toward Loveland.  So I lickity-split got dressed, pulled on my shoes, harnessed Sami and ran out the front door.  Guess what?  It was pouring already.  Maybe I should have looked out the window...hmm...a novel idea.  We walked anyway since we were already out and a little rain never hurt anyone.  I think Sami thought she was having deja vu all over again...back in PIB last Monday when the rain lasted all day and she and I took a 3 mile walk.  I mean, I've never been so drenched.  Sami kept stopping and looking up at me seeming to say, "Is this a joke? Can we go home now?" Well, at least she got her walk and we're both somewhat clean and dry.

Plans today: I had planned on mowing the front yard but I will put that off until tomorrow now. I need to do some sewing so will probably just do that today. I'd like to try a new detox thingy...it's a water weight reducer...I've been feeling so bloated lately and this seems to have good reviews:

Jillian Michael's 7 day bloat loss detox
 60 oz of purified water
2 tablespoon's lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar free cranberry juice
1 dandelion root tea bag

I could do that...not sure if I'll be able to find the dandelion root tea though. I'll check the organic section at Kroger today.  Granted, they say if you're drinking enough fluids every day, you shouldn't need to do this type of "detox" but I don't think I drink enough fluids every day (unfortunately, beer and wine don't count...otherwise I'd be set!). What do I have to lose, huh?

In other news...oh, Jim has a few side jobs on his agenda.  He started a deck yesterday, which should only take one more day.  That's an extra $300 for the windows.  Plus, the guy he's doing the deck for has other stuff he wants done.  I think our next door neighbor was talking about having Jim paint their great room. Oh, and the dirty, weird, crazy, hoarders three houses up have skedaddled.  Jim was worried about the house being abandoned and the people who owned it being unaware so he contacted them.  Turns out she knew they hightailed it but will now need some work to be done on the house. Possibly some extra cash for Jimmy/windows. I can't imagine what the state of that house must be.  I mean, if it's anything like what their front yard has turned into...ugh!  They were NASTY people.  Walking by their garbage cans on garbage day...you needed a gas mask.  And the "ladies" (I put it in quotes because I'm not sure they qualified) smoked those cigarillos...swisher sweets or something.  You know that house smells. YUCK!

Okay well I've wasted enough time here.  I'm going to head to Kroger to pick up Bubba's meds (see how expensive that is) and then I'll come home, have a smoothie and start sewing.  Later all!
