Busy Morning

Nothing much going on here.  I've actually had a busy morning.  Well, busy in comparison to what I'd normally be doing on summer vacation (nothing).  I got up at 6:30 (Sami seems to be getting that she can let me sleep a little later and I haven't, in fact, overslept), drank coffee, made breakfast, walked Sami, did some laundry, went to the vet to get Bubba's meds, stopped at Kroger and bought a couple of hibiscus bushes (2 cost me what one tree would have cost me at Lowes), came home, made juice, make a smoothie, drank it, read a bit and now here I am.  I guess you could say that's not "busy" but whatever.

Speaking of reading - I updated my book blog with a couple recent reads.  I'm now on to one by Mary Lawson (she wrote Crow Lake...an all-time favorite) and so far, I'm really liking it.  I'll try and be better about my book blog but I get lazy sometimes.

My plans for the week?  Well, I'll start getting things together this week for PIB.  We leave this coming Saturday so I'll get my lists started including my menu written out. I know I'm doing burgers (chicken and beef) for a couple nights so I'll get those made and frozen.  I'll start getting clothes laid out as well.  The temps for the week we're there are going to be pretty cool so I'll actually have to take pants. Not complaining.  I need new tennis shoes as well so I'll head to DSW, probably Wednesday.  I'd like to make a trip to Half Price but I may just do that once we get back...I have plenty of books to last me until then.

And that's about it. I made a sweet and sour chicken dish off Pinterest that was yummy...highly recommended (thanks Maggie)...chicken was so tender.  I think next time, however, I'll add a bit of spice to it. Tonight we'll have hamburgers, zucchini and maybe baked beans.

K - well, I guess I'll go put some laundry away.  I'm waiting for the sun to shine fully on my deck so I can lay out today.  Happy Monday to you all (I'll be forgetting what day it is in about a week here).  Later!
