Decisions

He always loves when it snows...rolling around and
feeling the coolness on his belly.  (Obviously this was
a few years ago.)
Today will be tough and I'm not sure what it holds.  I've been up most of the night...well, I slept from 8-9 and then from about 10-12.  I was up again at 1:30 and  after taking Zeke out Jim and I talked for about an hour.  I woke up again at 4 and haven't really been asleep.  Lack of sleep, however, is the least of my issues.  Jim and I will decide what to do for Zeke today.  I will go to work; Jim will go in for a few hours and call the vet.  I would call but I'd be a mess on the phone and that wouldn't be good for anyone.  The largest issue is Zeke just won't eat and forcing him is so painful.  He looked me in the eyes yesterday like he was saying, "Why?  Why are you doing this?"  He's slowly but steadily lost about 12 pounds in the last year or so and the enzyme levels with his liver suggest that something is going on there. Who knows if this vestibular thing is a result of that but I think it is and I believe he's trying to tell me something.  As hard as that is to face, I can't have him suffering and I need to listen.  Jim will call the doc today and discuss these things with him.  It's going to be a tough day.  I hope being at work will keep my mind somewhat occupied until we know what we're going to do for sure.

And that's all I have.  Best go and get my boy up.
