First, you all are so lucky that I'm even finding the time to post! I woke up this morning with a trickle of water coming out of our faucets. I was all ready to call in "sick" since there was no way, in my mind, that I could take a "shower" under the literal drops of water falling. Jim and I ran around the house trying to figure out what was going on. In the end, Jim called the water gurus and turns out there's a water main break nearby. UGH! I said to Jim, "What do I do?!" He said, "Just take a really slow shower." Which I did. It was not fun. It was cold (not the water but with the cold bathroom and barely a trickle coming out, I couldn't warm up), and not very refreshing. What a shocker that my eyes are bloodshot! Well, maybe just eye. However, I'm showered and so you are all lucky again that I don't smell like poo. Like the kids in class. Of course I'd blend in but who wants that?
I don't know that the kids will feel so lucky that I made it in today. I'm sure they'll be pissed when they hear the story. I think in a way they've been hoping and praying that I was telling the truth about calling in sick today and tomorrow for Harry Potter. Oh well...they'll get used to disappointment.
So that's about all I have today. It's Thursday and hopefully a good day. Ooh, by the way - I "cooked" a new chicken yesterday. It's a Private Selection brand...chicken found in the freezer aisle. It's actually packaged totally cooked, in several varieties of sauces. Last night I made thai red curry chicken with shallots and edamame. It was deeeeelicious. The chicken was really tender and moist. I will be trying others. K - must finish...getting ready. Later!
