Review: Shutter Island

So, Jim and I went to see Shutter Island yesterday. Psychological thrillers always tweak my interest and after all the things I'd heard about this one, I was very excited to see it. Let me say that it didn't disappoint. I give it 3 stars (out of 4). I knew going in to it that "what you think is going on really isn't" and I knew there were going to be twists and turns. What I didn't know was that I would wake up throughout the night realizing this or that. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night because I kept waking up thinking about it. I think that makes for a pretty good movie. Maggie told me that some guy on ESPN radio just didn't get it and he had to have a listener explain it to him. My reaction to that after seeing the movie is: Dude must be some kind of dumb ass! There isn't anything in the end where you're left wondering. It's a pretty clear cut, explained ending. Regardless - see it...I really liked it.

After the movie, Jim and went to Olive Garden. I was sitting there chit chatting with Jimmy, sipping a glass of wine when in walks Dolly! Dolly, if you will remember is one of the multi-handicapped kids in Z's room. She and her mother and sister sat at the table adjacent to ours. She was very sweet when she saw me and came over to show me her Shrek and Little Mermaid dolls that she had brought with her. Love her!

Okay well, I best get going...must figure out what the hell I'm doing in class today.
