Oh boy...couple of crazies coming our way!So yesterday, Lisa, Kim, Diane and I went to the Junior High to meet with one of the Sped teachers regarding 4 of her kids that are coming to us next year. 2 are fine. The other 2...oh boy! So let's see...some of the descriptions that were given.
The one who has major OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) throws tantrums like a 4 year old. Hits himself. He has a loud, dramatic wail that's obviously fake which he uses when he doesn't get his way (I'm excited for that one...should be hilarious); OCD picks his nose and...gross...scabs...and...GROSS!!!! Eats it!!! (Sorry if this is before/after/during anyone eating!) OCD steals. Usually little things like pencils etc. and apparently he's pretty slick about it. We were told, however, that a lot of times it's pretty obvious when he's going to steal something because he'll perseverate on it. In the classroom he's in he can't go past a certain point (about 10 feet into the room). He'll eat things off the floor or even out of the trash. Kids in the past - knowing this - will "trick" him into eating things (licked brownies etc...kids sometimes just suck!). I'm sure there's more. I'm sure I'll have lots of stories next year. The other kid that's a bad seed is defiant. Apparently he's got major anger/behavior issues. Fighting. Hates school. Major attendance issues. A weird family situation. Favorite word is "ridiculous"! Everything is ridiculous. He's done some things - vandalism - like clogging toilets, graffiti. The VP down in the junior high is at the point now where the sheriff will be called for any other issues.
Needless to say OCD has an aide with him most everywhere during the school day. Next year should be fun!
K - gotta head out. Starting to feel "really weird"..."sick"...sure hope I make it to work tomorrow. Cough Cough...swoon...weaving back and forth. Hee Hee
