So, you know, sometimes work sucks. IEPs and meetings and paperwork and administrators who don't do their jobs and parents who are a pain in the ass and department heads who are f*%kwits!!! Lately I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the crap I'm constantly having to do. Like I've said before, it wakes me up in the middle of the night and I can't sleep for worrying about it. Well, sometimes, work doesn't suck. And sometimes a parent emails you a really nice email that bucks you up and, well, affirms that what you're doing IS noticed by someone (who counts). I got a really nice email from a parent this morning. It was from the parent who I met with Friday for her sons IEP. She simply told me how much she appreciates all the info I've given her regarding her son (grade updates, assignments, notes - anything I do for any other kid) and that even though I haven't even met him, (I know, isn't it crazy that someone is actually on an IEP and gets absolutely NO services...and has all A's and B's...stupid really) I've "pegged" him. It was nice.
Oh, and here's something weird. Tell me if I'm paranoid. So, my phone rings yesterday at school - during 6th period. It's one of my study halls...I've got three kids...all working and asking for help periodically while I catch up on...yup, paperwork. Anyway, my phone rings and it's FW. My natural, first response is a roll of the eyes and a whisper under my breath "What the f*&k do you want?" So, what does she want? She called to ask me for help. She can't figure out how to generate a new IEP progress report from the program. So just as I'm about to try something out...she laughs (like an annoying hyena) and says she got it. And we hang up. And then I think back on it later and my paranoia starts in like, "Why would she call me?" Cause I know she didn't just call Lisa cause her phone didn't ring. "Was she checking up on me for some reason?" "Doesn't she know I hate her and that when she calls me I cringe and throw up a little in my mouth?" Anyway, weird.
Okay, that's all I've got. Oh, and by the way!!! It's Cranky Co-Workers Day!!! That makes me so happy! I now have a reason to be a bitch today! Hey, and so does Lisa!!! Hee Hee!!!
