So, Jim and I, in all our running around yesterday, stopped at Lowe's to browse all the things needed for our bathroom. I'm pretty sure I've chosen our tile - both for the floor as well as shower/bath. I have an idea too of the vanity I want but I'm torn between a dark wood and one that will be a closer match to our bedroom furniture. Let me know what you think about the two (the mission style - lighter wood - is closer to our bedroom furniture color - I'd want a differnt countertop though). In addition to all that, we found the glass block that we want and it isn't that 
expensive. We'll only have to do about a 5x3 foot space and the blocks are 8x8 so that isn't too bad at $5.48 per block. We're going with a design called "icescape" - it has a rippled look to it - you know, since it will be facing the window. Anyway, I'm excited. The plan is to demolish current bathroom over spring break. That should only take about 2 days. Then if we work on weekends for about a month, we should be able to knock it all out - meaning: Complete the project - yeah!!! I'm still deciding on paint color. I'm thinking about repainting the bedroom a khaki color and then doing the bathroom in a really muted greeny/blue. I'm not sure yet. I may just do the bathroom in a khaki color too and spice it up with the towels. Maggie, help!
As well, yesterday, I bought 13 new books. I'm psyched. THey're sitting here right now and I keep looking at them trying to decide which one I'll read first - you know, after I finish my current book (which I really like - don't get me wrong). Okay, at first look, I really liked the dark wood, but now I think I like the lighter one better. So that's my vote.
Lisa, I agree. I think the lighter wood fits the feel of their house more. It sounds like a fun project.
Here is my two cents- the dark wood will not wear as well in a bath so I go with the light also. the book about the river-Aunt Muir loved it but I could not get into it Salem Falls is good- I am almost finished with 3 Junes-Can't believe that Fern re-enters and meets Fenno! I want that recipe for checken and blue cheese! Sounds good. Kathleen
Thanks for all the opinions - I think I'm going with the lighter...Maggie made the good poing that it goes better with the rest of my decor.
