Mmm...I love this day. I'm actually going to celebrate by having fried bread for breakfast. Maybe we should rename it "Fried Bread Day". I have a couple of my faux flapjacks left over from Sunday and I hate to be a waster so, no cereal today. I know they aren't necessarily on the "healthy eating diet" I'm on but alas, I don't care. So, I slept like a baby rock last night. I put my book down at about 9 - sucked too because I kept nodding off with only about 5 pages to go - cuddled in with Sami and didn't even hear Jim come home after 10. I'm pretty sure I didn't move much either because I have a stiff neck today. I do remember dreaming, however, about my "silly Brit words". I remember laughing in my dream about "tiger nuts". Good I crack myself up at least.
Today should be a nothing day. I had my meeting yesterday with my suspended druggy student and his parents. His mother was not in a good mood - go figure. Funniest thing in the meeting? When it came time to sign the paper I had, the son printed his name rather than signing in cursive. His mother spit out, "Hoodlum (not his real name)! Do you not know how to write in cursive?!" His answer: A snotty, "Nope!" She then questions me as to why, as his special ed teacher, I'm not teaching him that. My answer (in my mind I was saying, hey, lets focus on the drugs that you're son is on - that he stole from you - instead of focusing on shit that at nearly 16 is pointless), "Well, if, when kids enter high school, they haven't learned that yet, it's a bit late to teach them now, especially when we have so many other things they need to master. " But hey, have at it. You could do this at home! While you're both jacked up on vicodin.
Tomorrow we have parent/teacher conferences so I won't be home until about 8. Long day. And boring. I should take a book with me.
K - I'm out. Gotta finish my beauty regime. Later.
