More School Dreams

I want to scream!!! I mean, it isn't enough that my colleague had to post a blog titled "one month from today" on the 17th about school starting? Now it seems I'm destined to dream of school every freaking night. How am I supposed to enjoy the rest of my summer if my nights are ruined? I may as well go back to school today! Yeah, right. Like I'd go back any sooner for ANY reason.

Oh, and of course, all the commercials are now "back to school". GIVE ME A BREAK! I guess there are some schools that are about to start back but still, it totally bums me out. Mom used to go back in July in Tennessee. Can you imagine! I would move! Really.

So anyway, my dream. I dreamt last night that we were short two chemistry teachers at school and though one had been replaced at the last minute the administration wanted the teachers to try and find a replacement for the second one. So, Maggie ended up getting Becky to do it. Now, the funny thing was, Maggie and I were both going to be taking the class (I don't know if it was in an inclusion sort of way or if we were actually getting graded) but the rest of the students weren't allowed to know that we knew her. Apparently one way to convince others of this was for Becky to go by the name "Anne" instead of Becky (I talked to Anne yesterday). So on the first day of school Maggie and I are sitting in the first row (I never sat in the front when I was in high school - must be why I did so well) and Becky walks in, walks right up to Maggie and then me and introduces herself to us: "Hi. I don't think we've met. My name is ANNE" (and she said "Anne" really slow like we were retarded. Maybe we were in the dream.) Oh, and before school started, Maggie and I kept giving Becky outfits to wear that would be "appropriate" for school. I guess her normal outfits were inappropriate?

So then, after about the third class, I had stayed after to talk to Becky since she left after 2 periods to go to her real job. Some other student stayed behind too to ask about something she didn't understand. So when the girl asks Becky for help, Becky just starts crying and says something like, "I have no idea. I don't understand half of what I'm talking about up there. I haven't taken chemistry since college. Yes, I'm a doctor but I don't use any of that crap that I learned in school," and then she runs out. I looked at the girl, the girl looked at me, we shrugged shoulders and then walked out.

My second dream was of Jim and me. We had gone on vacation at this "resort" and had just gotten "married". See, we only said that so we could get a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite. We even arrived wearing wedding clothes and we walked into the lobby with Jim carrying me. It was so funny.

So, we got upgraded and went to our room, which looked out over the lobby (nice - not). All I remember about the room was that it wasn't clean - the sheets were rumpled; it hadn't been vacuumed and in fact, the vacuum was in the middle of the "sitting area"; and there was only instant coffee in the kitchen. It was Taster's Choice and it was packaged like it had been in the 70s and 80s - in a class jar. It had a blue lid too which meant it was decaffeinated (I know - usually it's green). It was so weird. I told Jim, "That's it, we're out of here. I can't drink instant coffee. AND why would anyone drink coffee that was decaffeinated? That defeats the whole purpose!"

Jim managed to convince me to stay and so we started to clean the place but every time I tried to vacuum, I would start sucking up all these coins that were strewn all over the carpet. It was so weird.

Then I woke up.

Sorry about the one month from today thing, you know it's probably all that misery loves company thing. I sure hope I wasn't the cause of all these silly dreams. No wait, you've always had silly dreams. Ok, I feel better

You DO have the craziest dreams I've ever heard. I hate that the "Back to Cool" stuff starts so early in July. I've still done nothing for school since coming back from vacation. I need to get my arse in gear. Usually I'm pretty much ready by now. Oh well!
