Well, my hair has been highlighted and I'm so happy. I haven't gotten a great look at myself because my style consultant (I'm not even a star) is currently between "gigs" and did my hair from her own home so the 360 degree mirror wasn't available. Also, I came directly home and continued on my skin-stripping, I mean paint stripping project for the book shelves. It went much better today.
So I'm totally jealous of people who have a talent. No Mom, I'm not putting myself down. Really, I'm not. I mean an actual talent that I could actually make money with. See, I've been reading this persons blog recently. She actually has two blogs: one for her "rantings" and another for the photos she takes. She posted new ones today of flowers and they totally reminded me of A Georgia O'Keefe exhibit I went to several years back in D.C. It made be mournful of my own lack of artistic talent. Ho hum.
Anyway, I'm at it right now, making dinner (Tortellini with homemade meatballs, salad and garlic bread - YUM!), drinking wine and hoping to take a bath afterwards in order to wash off this nasty, toxic crap that is currently feasting on my arms and feet.
Wish for tomorrow: NO RAIN!!! It's so gloomy here.

You know, you have one of the hardest, and one of the most underpaid, yet important jobs in the world. I think that is a talent!
It's like this:
You start out with these young people who in the beginning are like blank canvases, and by the end of the year, they are as intricate as a Picasso, or Monet. You have filled the canvas with things that are important--more important then photos, or painting, or knitting!
I think you are talented, and our children are so much the better to have talented people like you influencing them!
Thank you!
:)

I always wonder why there aren't more people out there who are teachers (and not because we get summers off though that is certainly a plus). I mean, every day is different, we get to choose what we want to teach for the most part, our students are awesome (the most difficult part about our jobs are the parents - but even there, they just want what's best for their kids) and truly, I can't imagine doing anything else. I never knew I had so much patients. I guess I do have a talent. If I can't be a parent, I'm glad I get to teach a child at least.
Patients or patience? Did I even spell that right? Crap. And I teach? Oh, No!!!
