I have returned from another lovely trip to Put-in-Bay. We had a very nice time and enjoyed hanging out with Trip, Susan and of course Molly the wonder Bassett for a few days. There was much Euchre and Uno played and a bit of paddle ball and badmiton as well. It sucks, just a bit to think that I won't be seeing the place again this year but, c'est la vie. What's a girl to do.
So, to recap: Jim and I left last Monday. It was actually quite the ordeal for me because Sunday was our neighborhood party and to put it bluntly, I got completely snot-lockered! Ugh! I actually went to bed by 11pm but when I woke up from the alarm at 6am, I'm pretty sure I was still drunk. And talk about a hangover! Christ! I'm not allowed to drink like that again. Jim says he barely could tell I was drunk (thank god I'm not an obnoxious drinker). But, to tell you the truth, it wasn't really my fault. My neighbor's boyfriend kept giving me vodka (I had already started with beer) then I switched to wine and back to beer and well, I'm not 21 anymore (or 22, 23, 24, 25 you get my meaning). I just can't mix my alcohol anymore.
So, we got to PIB around noon on Monday, hung out with Trip then Jim, Trip and I went golfing. I played worse than I ever had. I was terrible. It was also hotter than shit and really sunny so when we returned, Trip and I went on the wave runner. Good times. Aunt Muir and Uncle Stan were there Monday (left Tuesday) as well as Susan's mother (left Wednesday). We had a great steak dinner, courtesy of Trip.
Tuesday, we laid out and generally had a good time. Later, we played Uno and then Trip and I decided to hop on the wave runner quickly around 5pm for a quick run before starting dinner. Earlier in the day it had been very rough but had calmed down considerably. We were going along, having a good time, when suddenly, the thing dies on us; in the middle of the lake. UGH! So, we're laughing our asses off and Trip gets it started again so I'm yelling, "GO, GO, GO!!! Get HOME!" and we speed ahead toward the cottage for about 500 yards and the damn thing dies again. It does that about 3 more times and then dies for good. So, there we are in the middle of lake Erie (we've actually gotten close to the shoreline) with no hopes of rescue (there are no boats in the vicinity). So, we see a little alcove and Trip jumps in to push us towards it (we kept saying to each other at this point "thank god we weren't alone"). When we get there, we're able to lift the seat off to look at the engine and we see that some dumbass (Tommy, my cousin most likely) has left the oil cap off and it's not to be found and so surely, water has gotten into the oil. Crap!!! Why are people such morons? Anyway, Trip decides I should be the one to run home, grab a rope and Jim and some oil. So, picture me, in my bikini, with life jacket on (no way was I going to run down the road with my boobs flopping all over the place) in water shoes. I got a lot of interesting looks but not one person stopped to help me. I mean, I was obviously in some sort of distress, but whatever. So, to make a long story a little shorter, we couldn't get it started and we had to get our neighbor, Bob Bahney to tow us in. The wave runner is now being looked at (In other words, dead. Not to be seen until at least next year.)
Wednesday I went to the pool where I was eventually joined by Trip and Jim. We played H-O-R-S-E in the pool and hung out. I had a delicious Mudslide - YUMMY!
Thursday was very rainy but fun and way lazy.
Friday home. I am now going to go love on my dogs.

I'm glad you had a good time. It is sad when you realize that you are not going to be back at your summer "residence" until next summer. Sometimes, it's down-right depressing. At least it is something to look forward to. Later!
