Alas, I have returned home from another day by the pool. Got there around 11:30, talked to Dad for a bit and played with sweet little old Brutus before changing and heading outside to have lunch and then read. Jim, however, popped by and lunched with me and then I convinced him to change and let me kick his ass in a game of pool paddle ball. Cullen joined and together we whomped (spell check wanted to replace this word with humped. That's just wrong) him 2 out of 3 games. Sucker! Will he never learn? (I am NOT a good sport. Seriously. Sometimes, Jim will be playing really poorly and it makes me laugh uncontrollably. Kind of that nervous laughter but not nervous; just obnoxious. I'll try and stop.)
Then Dad left to go work out, Jim went back to work and Cullen and I hung out until he got bored with me and went inside to hang with Brutus. That is when the pool people showed up to clean the pool. I felt like such a loser "diva". Here I am, lounging around the pool, sipping iced tea and reading my book while these two poor women slave around me in this oppressive heat to vacuum a pool that is already spotless. It really was ridiculous.
Anyway, came home and started dinner (the prep work). I was going to do Chicken Alfredo tonight but will save that for tomorrow since Mom is coming to stay for a couple days (she's bringing Chomper home from his visit with his Nana. Can't wait to see her) and instead will make Sloppy Joe's with cole slaw and a new dish called Crunchy Potatoes (from Paula Dean). We'll see if their good or not.
Ooh, last night for the first time I made "beer-battered fish" and it was delicious!!! I used tilapia instead of the cod it called for cause that's what I had and YUM! Jim said "you can make that again."
My peppers are doing AWESOME and Jim found another one that is sprouting. It's so exciting! I can make stuffed peppers for three now!!!
Oooh, last thing: From Costco, I bought a 3-box combo of these different pasta salads and made one today. It was delicious. I think for our block party thing on Sunday I'll do one but spice it up with some pepperoni and cheese and peppers.
Gee, I wonder why I'm so hungry?
