I just talked to Maggie and she said that Eva is WIRED. When she came in, greeted by a sleep-deprived Maggie and Charlie, she proceeded to tell them story after story. I'm just glad she had a really good time and this didn't seem to take away from that.
I was worried that she'd be so tired and spent that she wouldn't want me up there but she does so I'll finish this up, shower and then head out. I'm coming back tomorrow so it's just a quick trip. Plus they'll be down Friday.
My car ended up being the Starlink that the mechanic thought it was. It was covered under warranty and they gave me a brand spanking new battery which has a 30 month warranty. It's such a relief to have that taken care of. There's nothing worse than worrying about your car not working or dying on you.
Speaking of cars and worries, 12 years ago today I was headed up to Columbus when that awful accident on 75 occurred (just before Oregonia) where a person was killed and I got slightly hit. I can't believe it's been that long.
Plans for today: Hanging at the pool. We'll eat dinner at home and I'm sure just enjoy these last days before we all head back to our stupid normal, non-summer routine.
Speaking of which, I got an email from the sped department head with an updated caseload attached but I refuse to look at it. I don't want to get annoyed because as per usual, I'm sure he's fucked it all up. I had nightmares last night about going back to school. In one, I couldn't remember how to take attendance. In another, I was late for class and it took me 20 minutes to remember how to get to my room. Then in my final nightmare I had a new student whose parents came to class with him. They were only there to verse the teachers in their kids nuttiness because he was violent and in my dream he came at me, knocked me down and then proceeded to hold me down while acting like he was going to eat my face. The father could barely get him off me. I said, "What happens when that happens and you're not here to get him off me? Should I just knee the little shit in the nuts?" Fingers crossed nothing like this happens this year.
Okay, time to get a move on. I have to stop for gas and champagne before I head up. Happy Tuesday...I'll probably not post tomorrow so see you Thursday. Later!
