Ugh! The meteorologists are saying that with the heat and humidity today, there's a chance for strong storms tonight. The highest threat? Shear winds, my worst enemy. Obviously this is not what I want to hear. I mean, remnants from the last storm are still piled up outside in the circle. (The county originally had the 11th-16th as brush collection days but apparently seeing the amount they said it would take several weeks. They've even had to contract the work out. They've only just started in our neighborhood.) I don't want to have to add to it. And our tree guy still hasn't come to trim up the trees that were damaged (can't fault him...I'm sure he's crazy busy with others who had worse damage). And of course they're saying that the storms will most likely hit between 10-midnight. Fingers crossed that we get through the night unscathed.
This heat is also going to make my day a sweaty one since my plans are to mow the front and back yard. This is a task I usually try and split over two days but it will be my workout for the day. Hope I don't melt or pass out.
I made a really delicious chicken last night in the Ninja. It was a grilled Mexican chicken and quite different from most of the rubs I end up with when preparing chicken. It has a little bit of cinnamon and lots of other stuff. Jim loved it...so did I. Tonight Jim wants the shrimp and peas with linguine. I'll do that with either a salad or maybe some broccoli. It's a WW recipe and pretty delicious.
What else? I'm reading a good book: Emma Straub's This Time Tomorrow. Also listening to a good book: Elin Hilderbrand's Summer of '69. That one has a sequel to it which I'll hopefully download to listen to on my way to PIB (Summer of '79).
