July 4th Recap

What a nice, long weekend. It really seemed to creep by which is always a good thing when you're talking about the weekend. The weather ended up being phenomenal though hot but considering they were originally calling for off and on storms all weekend I'll take it.

Friday, Jim got off early and we met at Shooters for lunch around noon. Once home, we just hung out, had a couple drinks with the neighbor, and I made dinner and then it was bedtime. Saturday we hung out, Doug and Lauren came over for drinks, we went to El Picante for dinner and then we played some cards. Sunday we had our neighborhood picnic which was really nice. One of the newer neighbors showed up and we had a nice time getting to know them. There was a ton of food (I may have eaten too much) and games and laughter and beer. Jim ended up having to turn in early because he got a raging headache (I think the heat got to him) but he hung until about 8:30. He had a good time though. We need to do that more often...we always have fun.

Yesterday was pretty chill. I kept forgetting that it was actually July 4th yesterday since we'd really celebrated it on Sunday. Jim, Doug and Lauren and I went to Little Miami for a couple beers and lunch. That was fun. When we got home, we played cards for a bit - more fun. And then Jim and I came in around 5:00 and hung out in the AC. I made dinner and then went upstairs to lay in my bed and watch Stranger Things. It was a perfect way to end the weekend.

And now it's back to reality and I'm going to make an attempt to be good this week and not imbibe so much. I've been so lax in my eating and drinking so it's time to get back on that horse. So far today I did my yoga and walked the dogs. After this I'll clean the house and then maybe take a bike ride. It's so humid though...we'll see. Once all that's complete it should be about lunch time so I'll eat (it's a fasting day) and then maybe lay out. Who knows. If I don't do that I may do some school work.

Dinner tonight: I think I'll do a chicken dish. Either chicken parm pie or crispy onion chicken. Who knows.

Oh, my Aunt Muir called me this morning. We were talking about the Bay and she said that she was there a little while ago for the day with my cousin Tommy and his wife Martha. She got to go in the house and she said it's AMAZING! She said it's so much more beautiful than she could have expected. I cannot WAIT to see it! Fingers crossed it happens soon. It was really good to talk to her...I sure miss seeing her! It's been too long.

Okay well, time to get the house cleaned. Happy Tuesday! Later!
