In other sad news, Amy Coney Barrett being confirmed is such sad news. Unqualified, anti-women's rights, anti-LGBTQ, someone who has already shown she is not non-partisan (little campaign rally party at the White House just after her confirmation last night)...we who understand what a democracy is and how this country was built are FUCKED! We'll be taking a 50 year step backward and I'm hoping that's the start of the Senate flipping.
In school news: Nothing exciting there. I did my first day of writing with the kids yesterday and of course for some it was too baffling for them to follow. Mainly the kids at home were the thorns in my side. They just couldn't understand what I was trying to get across to them in terms of direction and this is the hell of having to teach in person and virtually. I'll try again today and see how things go. Hopefully it will be a little smoother.
What else: I'll have a bathroom update for you tomorrow. It should all be complete by Thursday or Friday. It's taken longer because the tile issues and other things but I'm trying to be patient and just know that the final result will be worth it.
I made a really yummy dinner last night from my Instant Pot Bible (Thai-inspired pulled chicken)...Jimmy loved it. It's one of those meals that will definitely be even better the next day when all the flavors are absorbed.
And that's about all I've got. I have a 1:00 PM meeting today for a transfer student who was added to my caseload last week. Mom just has to come in and sign a couple papers. She of course could have done that virtually but she wanted to come it. To each his own.
