In other news, I probably had one of the funniest conversations yesterday in history class. Here's what went down: We were talking about WWI and the build up that started the war. When one of the facts in the PowerPoint stated that various countries throughout Europe were focused on building a strong army, one of my kids - let's call him Billy (who is autistic and hilarious), said, "Army...what's the opposite? Leggy? Leggy is the opposite of army right?!" All while pointing to his arm and the his leg. And then he just kept saying it over and over (like autistic kids do, which cracked me up and kept me from being able to move on: "Leggy, the opposite of army. A-R-M-Y the opposite of L-E-G-Y." (At this point, of course, I had to correct him and say, "Actually, it'd be L-E-G-G-Y but that's not a word (at least in the sense he meant) and it's not the opposite of ARMY and you need to stop now!" Literally, my history class is a comedy hour/episode of candid camera. I keep looking for the camera but haven't found it yet. Ridiculous.
I have a 7:15 IEP meeting today. It's for a 9th grader but I've had his brother, who's a 12th grader, on my caseload for 3 years so I know the parents well. These are the ones who are divorced and hate each other. The kid is fine but a tough bird because he has issues dealing with his emotions which of course are all over the place being A) a teenager and B) on the spectrum. Shouldn't be too bad though...I hope.
I'll head to Costco after school today. Jim has his PET scan at 9:15 so doesn't need to leave home until 8:30ish. He'll thus work late. Tomorrow he gets his MRI.
