I know I've talked about this before but recently, with some of the stress I've been feeling regarding Jim's health (all is fine) I've been waking up in the middle of the night and then can't get back to sleep. I'll lay there thinking things and as it always happens at night, I let my mind go to bad places and I start freaking out. So, I reinstated my 4-7-8 breathing and it's helped tremendously. If you've never used this method, I find it really settles the mind, slows the heart rate and lulls the body in to a calmness that allows sleep to take over. (Through your nose, you take in a big breath, counting for 4 seconds. Then you hold it for 7 and slowly let it out for 8 seconds.) I usually do it about 4 times before falling asleep...I think. I usually notice at about round 3 that I'm losing count and falling asleep. Try it if you've got the night time racing mind syndrome.
My IEP meeting went well yesterday. I was done with the meeting before school started so that's good.
No new news or symptoms that Jim's complaining about. He came home from work yesterday in fine spirits and NOT falling asleep on his feet so that's good.
Got another couple dozen French cakes made last night. So hard NOT to eat those while making them.
What is Joe Scarborough wearing on Morning Joe? He looks like he's in a track suit. Now I have no problem with this but he's usually in a suit suit...Looks like he just came in from a run and didn't have time to change. Hmm...unusual.
Well, that's all I've got. Time to get a move on. Happy Thursday. Later!
