Why? Because "Skivvy" (foster/foul-mouthed kid) is suspended. (I feel I can tell this story because Lisa posted it on FB...otherwise I wouldn't.) Yesterday - during Lisa's science class (I had my headphones on and didn't hear the whole thing), Skivvy proceeded to cuss twice (I did hear one of those as it happened before the bell rang),and completely disrespected Lisa causing her - through total frustration - to tear up and walk out of the room. She was going to the office BTW and to get herself together...kids weren't left alone as I was in there and there was an aide. I saw her walk out - out of the corner of my eye - and then saw the kids all looking at me with wide eyes. I took my headphones off and said "What?" They said, "Mrs. H!? Mrs. O just left the room and she was crying!" Me: "What the heck? What happened?" And they all pointed to Skivvy. Me (as I stormed toward the door, stopping in front of Skivvy): "Really? You want to know why you're having such a hard time adjusting here?! Because you have no respect for anyone! You want respect? Then you better be giving it too!" That apparently pissed him off even more and he eventually was brought down to the office - I'm sure cussing and yelling the whole way. That's his M.O. I told Lisa later that if the admins didn't do anything - we should call in sick on Thursday (19 teachers are already going to be out for something). But...in the end they did suspend him 2 days. Lisa wants him out of her class and I don't blame her (I'd like him out of mine to be honest). The admin in charge of Skivvy said they're going to meet and try and figure an alternative out for him because that asshole can't function at school. I don't know...I've never had a student like him before...I don't know what the answer is. On one hand you hate giving up and trying to make him fit in but on the other - it's a battle EVERYDAY and it's interfering with the other kids who are being screwed because of his behavior. AND - you know his attitude is rubbing off on them. One of the kids is starting to act like him and like Lisa said to the class yesterday (not pointing any fingers but it was pretty obvious) it has to stop. Anyway - hopefully the next two days will be drama-free.
In other news: My healthy eating thing is going really well. I've been tracking my cal intake and have managed to stay within 1500 calories every day so far. I don't really "feel" any different in regard to how my clothes fit but I'm sure that will come with time. It better because if this doesn't work and I'm going to go balls to the wall, food/drink crazy and just eat and drink what I want, when I want because I must be BROKEN! I do, however, feel well rested and I don't really feel as tired during the day...I'm sure that's the no drinking during the week thing. I've been getting really good sleep, that's for sure.
In Bubba news: He got his skin biopsy (poor little pork chop got shaved on his rump and has a nice stitched-up wound) but we don't have the results yet. You'd think he'd be all annoyed by his stitches and try to get at it (although he's so rotund, he can't bend enough to reach) but he doesn't. He doesn't even act like he knows it's there. Love him. On the one hand, I hope the biopsy comes back negative but on the other - I wish it would give us an answer. I can't have this boy on predinsone that's for sure (started losing his ability to hold his pee) and I want to figure out a solution to this recurring skin issue. UGH! Fingers crossed.
Okay - well I best head out. Should be an easy day...early release schedule (shortened bells) and no pain in the ass student! K - later!
