J'Adore!

Oui oui!  How cute is a sweet girl in her new beret?!  Apparently Charlie bought her 3 of these lovelies!  She had to wear one to bed last night...who can blame her?

So...how sad am I?  Today is the start of my last weekend on vacation!  WAHHHHH!!!  I sure wish I had just one more week!  But, alas, in one more week, we'll be in the 3rd quarter of school.  THE 3RD QUARTER!  That I can't believe.  This year, in a way, has flown by.  Let us all hope and pray that the rest goes just as quickly (and that we have a snow day here and there to break up the monotony).

My plans today: Walk Sami;  clean; go to the grocery; exercise; cuddle with my babies and drink some wine!  YAY!!!  It being Friday, I get to have a glass or two.  Happy, happy, joy, joy!  I've been so good these last couple of days.  Kind of good that I'm easing into this no-drinking-during-the-week thing...I'll be rip roaring and ready to go come Monday. (Shut up to all of those out there who don't enjoy in a nice, relaxing glass...you don't know what you're missing!)  I've also been really good in my healthy eating kick.  I need to get snacks at the store though so I can keep the hunger monster at bay during that 3 PM hour when I need a snack.  I'll get some veggies and chop them up so I'll have something to go to when my stomach starts its bullshit...maybe some low cal, healthy hummus too.  Cauliflower, carrots, cucumbers, red peppers...you know.  Usually I'd reach for a handful of pretzels but if I can reduce a few carbs, that would be good.

Oh, last night's dinner?  The Morning Star Black Bean Chipotle Burgers?  Good!  I ended up just heating them on the stove top (too cold to grill) and served them with toasted whole grain bread.  I had all the normal fixings you would have for a hamburger (tomato, onion and avocado as well as condiments)...they were filling, yummy and Jim didn't miss the meat in his meal.  Served with some sweet potato fries and sauteed zucchini with caramelized onions...scrumptious!  By the way - these would be very easy to make from scratch too.  Tonight's dinner will be marinated tri-tip, broccoli and some couscous.  I loves me some tri-tip even if I do have to freeze while fixing it (grilling...brrr!!!).

And that's all I've got.  I think I'll go walk Sami now - a relatively short one - and get home to ride my recumbent bike and then head out.  (I forgot I need to get a new fireplace grate at Lowes).  Later all!
