So, I'm reading a book called Walk Two Moons to my low level Language Arts class. It's about a 13 year old girl, dealing with the her mother leaving and living in a new place. She is on a trip to Idaho to see her mother and along the way, the reader hears the events that led up to her mother's abandonment. Well, one of the things that happened was the mother, Sugar, delivered (3 weeks from her due date) a stillborn child. I read this part aloud to the kids yesterday. As I was reading and near the end of the chapter, I noticed that Diablo was sniffing rather loudly and would ask, "Is it DEAD!?" Finally the chapter ended and Diablo said again, "IS IT DEAD!!!??? DID THE BABY DIE!!!???" And as gently as I could I said, "Well, yes, Diablo. She did." Well, the tears started rolling then and he said, "I'M SO MAD AT THAT STUPID BABY FOR DYING!!! IT'S SO SAD!!!" Poor little thing. I'm really not looking forward now to the end of the book when we find out that the mother is in fact dead as well. Oh boy!
In other news, I'm happy as hell that it's Friday! This was actually a good week (knock on wood...it's not over yet!) but of course by the end I'm tired. I definitely don't feel like cooking tonight...I'll have to find out from Jimmy where he wants to eat tonight.
Mom and Richard are coming to town this weekend as are Maggie and Charlie. Mom and Richard are staying with Trip and Susan tonight, Anne on Saturday and Jim and me on Sunday. Yippee!!! Maggie and Charlie are coming down and I'll get to see them tomorrow. Trip and Charlie are going to the UK game - they play Auburn (which is Charlie's alma mater - WAR EAGLE!!!) so I really won't get to see them much but that's okay cause Maggie, Susan and most important - J Bird will hang! Can't wait to see that boy! Miss him!
Reds play this evening! Go Reds! Whatever happens, I'm proud to be a Cincinnati Reds fan, that's for sure!
K - I'd better head out. It's movie day in LA and History...finishing up Indian Jones (#3) and the final episode in Frontier House. Later!
