Bits And Pieces

Well, Bubba is doing much, much better. His new medication seems to be doing the trick. This morning, I'm sure, he could have gone down the steps from the bedroom just fine but I still carried him. He had no issues at all taking a scat and his back end hasn't suddenly collapsed once. The doctor said that after the 3 day period of steroids we'll taper him off them. I'm so relieved even though this is likely to happen again considering it really is a long-backed dog trait (bassets, dachschunds etc.). I know Bubba is getting annoyed too because he hasn't been able to go upstairs on his own or down off the deck. I'm sure he feels like a kid in trouble who isn't allowed to do what all the other kids are doing.

So, today I have two IEP's and then tomorrow I have my last one of the fall. One of my IEP's today isn't showing because she's so "busy". It's probably a good thing though because she has, I think, one tooth in the front and it's rather over-sized and sort of sticks out at me. Kind of like a giant chicklet. Or, if you've ever seen the Ren and Stimpy where Ren loses all this teeth and then Stimpy gets him a giant tooth for his birthday and Ren sticks it in his mouth. Oh man, I don't think I could get through a whole IEP looking at that.

My IEP tomorrow is actually with a kid in foster care. He is a resident of another district and so the rep from that district's school has to be there. I was also told by my special ed coordinator that this woman from the other district would be providing a surrogate for the meeting (this is the person acting as the "parent" and gives consent to the IEP - kind of important). Then I get an email from the rep asking me if I'm getting one or if she was supposed to. Why are some people so unorganized and ditsy? I don't get it.

Okay, I best go finished getting ready and head off to school.

8 days until I go to California!!! "California here I come, right back where I started from..."

Those steroids can really work wonders. Pierre has had to take them whenever he has injured his back, they have always helped so much. I'm glad Bubba is better!
