Long Day - Ugh!

It's Friday!!! Yeah!!! This week flew by for me.

So here's a funny story:
Let me preface by asking: Did you know that it's impossible to lick your own elbow? (I'm pausing to allow you all to test it). Also to preface: I have a student - we'll call him Jerry - who is truly, truly, truly - how should I put it - cognitively challenged. He has no reading skills, he's incredibly immature (when I'm on my way back to my room after lunch duty and he is on his way to lunch, I always pass him as he runs, at break neck speed for the cafeteria!!!), he has the attention span of a flea (that may be an over=exagerration too) but he's hilarious and fun to talk to. So yesterday, he walked in the room prior to school starting and starts yammering about who knows what (he also has a speech impediment and is sometimes hard to understand). I said, "Hey Jerry, did you know that it's impossible to lick your own elbow?" His reply: "Not for me," and he proceeds for about 45 seconds to twist his arm every which way attempting to touch tongue with elbow. So, to make it even funnier I said, "Maybe if you pull your tongue with your other hand you can do it." And of course, he tries. Was that mean of me? Lisa called me the devil!

So, today I'm not going to get home, probably until after 6. Our head-honcho has invited the staff to his house for his annual get-together before the first home football game. I didn't go last year but I think this year the Sped staff (and by that I mean those of us who normally aren't kissing his ass) needs to show that a little "team playing". I think he's looking for some of us to be "trouble" and I don't want to give him any extra ammo to destroy us later.

K - oh, and there's big news on the horizon!!!
