And...I'm Home

Sigh...I have returned from vacation #1 today.

I just wanted to get a quick "Hello" and give a quick recap of my trip.

First of all, Jim and I ended up taking Zeke with us. He was a complete sweet pea! He was a great car rider up and back (slept most of the way), barely barked at anyone and was even able to hang out with us outside without his leash on. He also met several dogs on the island and now has some new friends. Their names are Hank (black lab), Opi (German Shepherd), and Lola (rat terrier). Unfortunately, Zeke's romp with Opi (the Bahney dog who lives on the point) resulted in an unexpected bath with freezing hose water. You see, like all dogs who enjoy nasty smells, and have an ability to find the nastiest ones in a 5 mile radius, Zeke "happened upon" a rotting carp carcass. Being hundreds of yards away from his father and I, Zeke managed to roll and rub his neck in and on said carp for quite awhile before he was dragged away by Jim whose reaction was to dry heave. Hilarious. And, for some reason, even though we got the smell off his body, his breath now smells like foul fish. Considering he was sick that night, I'm sure he did have a nibble.

Anyway, the rest of our vacation was uneventful. Lots of hanging out together, going to the pool, golfing, staining deck and stairs and drinking mudslides. We didn't bicker or fight and in general, had a good time together.

K - more later with sweet pictures of Zeke and the sunset.
