More Me Time

My boys need to get their summer hours figured out because 6:00 is too early for this lady of leisure. I'd be sort of okay with 6:30 but throw me a bone boys! I need my beauty sleep! 

Jim made it to Cali safe and sound and seems to be having a good time. His friend, Les, picked him up at the airport and went out to lunch and hung our for a while until Jim could check into his hotel. I talked to him around 7:00, my time, and he was planning on going to Les's house for dinner. I asked him if Les was going to pick him up or if he was going to Uber and he said, "I'll probably just take the bus." I love this about Jim...he's so resourceful and not afraid. I'd never just take the bus in a city I don't know well but that's Jim.  

My day yesterday was productive but a bit exhausting. I managed to do most of what I wanted but it wasn't easy. Mowing the lawn was miserable. By the time I'd finished, I could have wrung a bucketful of sweat from my clothes. Thankfully the rain and storms that rolled through overnight will result in a drop in humidity. Thank the baby Jesus. I got lots of laundry done as well and did a bit of cleaning. 

I hung out with the neighbors last night for a bit while all the kids were fishing at the pond and so was up a bit later than I'd planned. This means that I didn't watch Wuthering Heights. I did start it but realized it was way too late for this loser to finish it so I turned off the TV and went to sleep.

Today's plans: I'm going to walk the boys when I finish this, get that out of the way, do some yoga and then who knows. I do need to go to the grocery (Aldi) but I don't know if I feel like doing that. I'm feeling a bit lazy. If the clouds clear out maybe I'll lay in the sun for a bit. The day is wide open. 

I finished the book I was reading and REALLY liked it. It was called The Wedding People by Alison Espach. Highly recommend. I'll start my next book today which is the most recent Kathryn Stockett (she wrote The Help) called The Calamity Club. I look forward to this one. 

I still don't know if we're going out tonight or not. Nothing was said about it last night and I'm kind of hoping it falls by the wayside (because I'm a loser) but I think I can rally if the consensus is to go. We'll see. 

Dinner tonight will be tacos. I'll make plenty so I can eat it over the next couple days. 

And that's all I've got. I'm going to go get my shit together so I can walk the boys. Happy Friday! Later.
