Smooth

You will be happy to know that the trip down to Tennessee and back on Friday went very smoothly. Jim and I got to Trip's around 7:15 and he was pulling into his driveway from dropping off JJ at the same time we arrived. We got into the car just before 7:30 and were on our way. With one quick stop just inside TN, we made it to Mom's around 11:40. There was a bit of a snafu with the movers but it all got figured out in the end. Jim and I stayed for about an hour and after packing up the cats, we were back on the road by 12:45. The cats did really well. This time around, I put them each in a large cage with a towel and a travel litter box. They meowed for about the 1st 1/2 hour but then settled down and slept with intermittent yowls every now and then. Jim and I pulled into our neighborhood by 5:00. I dropped Jim off at home and got the cats settled at the Nunns and they are happy as clams with all the kids giving them a ton of attention.

Trip and Mom got on the road around 4:00 and I got a text from Trip saying they'd arrived at his house at 8:30ish. Of course when the text came, I was in bed asleep but what did you expect?

Saturday, Jim and I got up, had breakfast, walked the boys, I did a little yoga (I was sore and stiff from sitting in the car for 9 hours) and then headed to Silver Spring House to meet everyone for the Mom exchange. Afterwards, Jim and I came home, napped and then headed back out for beers and dinner with Doug and Lauren. We went to High Grain Brewery and I really liked it. They had good beer and good food. We came home and played some euchre and Skip-bo. Sunday was chill. Jim and I did our usual (breakfast, walk, Shooters, football, fire, dinner, bath, bed). I made a copycat Olive Garden Zuppa (which was delicious).

This week should be relatively easy. I do have an IEP today at 11:00 but it's a Zoom meeting and should only take about 20 minutes if the parents don't have any questions or issues which they shouldn't. I'll be happy this time next week when I only have a 2 day week.

So all the leaves are off the trees and I have no idea when I'm going to be able to get to them. The problem is that they are still so wet and of course we're not going to have a stretch of dry weather for a while. However, maybe it will give them time dry out a bit and shrink up. We'll see. I will come home today and do what I can...at least blow off the decks and driveway.

Dinner tonight is No-Peek Beef Tips with broccoli...easy and no hassle.

And that's all I've got. Happy Monday. Later!
