House Husband

There's good and bad with having Jim on 2nd shift. The bad: Obviously I miss having him home and getting to see him. I miss sitting down with him to eat a dinner that I cooked. I miss watching The Wheel (and beating him to the punch nearly every time). I miss having that second person around to deal with the pups (check on them to make sure they're not into anything and letting them in and out and in and out). However, the good sometimes really seems to, maybe not outweigh but rather balance things out.

First of all, there's nothing better than having Jim at home during the day to run my errands (mainly go to the grocery). I do NOT like going to the grocery. The pups love having him around so they don't ever have to go in their cage. When I get home they've been using up their energy all day and it makes exercising so much easier. Yesterday, was the kicker though. I sent Jim a text saying "Clean?" and "Don't forget to fill the dog food container". And his text back said, "Steam cleaned the stairs and upstairs".  I mean, WHAT?! I was thrilled! I hadn't even asked him to do this and I've been thinking about doing it myself for a while (with all this rain and whatnot the carpets have desperately needed it). So when he comes to me and says, "I may have to be on second shift for a little while longer" (he hasn't said this but it's happened before) my response to him will be, "Dammit!" but inside I'm kind of going, "Yay!" (in a whisper).

And...it's f&%king freezing again. And windy. The rain stopped but now we have a dusting of snow (typed snot...might as well be) on the ground. Thankfully with the wind, it dried the streets so the drive in should be fine. At least my backyard will be mostly frozen over the next few days but I've been dreaming a LOT about the beach and warm weather and the sun. {sad sigh}

School is fine. The crazy lady/mother (still can't believe that woman is a mother...can't believe someone actually impregnated her! I mean, crazy is hard to hide with this woman) is still at it and they are supposed to be serving her with a cease and desist letter. She's apparently not going to be allowed to communicate with ANYONE in the district, aside from the VP unless given express permission. This won't last long and I'd imagine that the shit is getting mighty close to the fan right now. MIGHTY CLOSE! (Said in Bob Ewell's Alabamian twang. If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch To Kill a Mockingbird.)

Okay well, time to bundle up and get a move on. Did I mention that I slept like a little baby!? I heard Jim come home but only barely. K - happy Wednesday. Later!
