I'm not going to post today about Sami because I'm having to post at school (computer is still being fixed) and I don't want to bawl. I'll update you about that day when I'm able to do it at home (hopefully tomorrow). One thing, however, we got her back and she is now perched in her rightful spot - just above Zeke and Bubba, in the family room, watching over Jim and me.
So this weekend, Jim and I have made a slightly impromptu plan to head north to Columbus. It's always been a rare thing that we can go places together because we would, in the past, need a dog sitter. But...that's not the case right now. And that's enough of that talk!
Anyway - Jim said to me on Sunday that we should have steak one of the nights we were at Maggie and Charlie's. So I told Maggie that and that I would pick up some filet's and she's going to get some crab legs and it's going to be a delicious night of surf and turf! I can't wait.
What else? Oh, Ulysses has been taken out of my science class. I don't know if I mentioned what happened last Friday. I was 3 minutes into class, just starting notes and I noticed that U was packing up all his materials and heading toward the door. So I said, "Are you taking a break?" And he says to me in an elevated (shitty) tone of voice, "I LEFT YOU A NOTE EXPLAINING!" And I said, "You know what, you're rude! You don't need to speak to people like that!" And I flicked my hand toward the door in a manner of "GO ON...GIT!" The note, I think basically just said that he was stressed and about to go off on me and was going to do his work in the hallway. Hmm...after 3 minutes in class...having had no interaction with each other...I've stressed him out?! Okay. (Oh, and after this happened one my kid said, "Mrs. H, I feel really sorry for you." And another kid said, "Me too!" And another said, "Me too!")
Anyway - after class finished, I emailed the "team" including mom about this and of course heard NOTHING back from anyone. Until Saturday when U emailed the team and explained how things would be done in my 4th period class from now on. Needless to say, Monday I got to school and made a call to his case manager and told her this had to be figured out immediately! I was DONE having him dictate to me how my class would be run. And this "stressed out/about to go off on you " crap? That's just an excuse for him to work independently and not have to sit and a classroom and be able to listen to his f&%king Christmas music! So, the decision was made he would no longer be in my class anymore. Don't know what they're going to do with him but NMP - not my problem.
Okay - best get a move on. Starting a new book today in LA. Hope the kids like it. Later...happy Tuesday!
