Makes All The Difference

I've said it before but it needs saying again: I love the people I work with. I can't imagine working somewhere that didn't have my back or that was considered a "hostile environment". I have such sympathy for people that suffer through because they have no other choice or at least feel that way. Yesterday was miserable for me. I felt okay to start but had been up since 2:30 so was certainly tired. I thought I could power through, however. I did manage to get through exams but by 12:30, I had had it. I couldn't even eat my delicious Chinese we ordered. (I ate my egg roll and two or three bites of General Tso's.) As I sat there in my chair resting my eyes, Lisa said, "Go home." So I did. And on my way out - I stopped the first administrator I saw (principal) and told him I was sick and heading home. He patted me on the shoulder and said, "Oh no! With everything else going on?! Go home, get better!"

My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa, John and their girl Charlie today. Charlie's a black lab that was feeling poorly yesterday. When they took her to the vet, they found what looks to be a tumor. They'll know more after an ultrasound. To top that off, Lisa has a raging migraine! Stay home and don't think of work. We've got this!

Oh, and in terms of my own health, I'm feeling much better. I actually slept last night. I did keep waking up to cough but managed each time to fall back to sleep. I still have medicine belly which is driving me nuts. I eat and then in about 30 minutes my stomach starts growling like it's starving. Of course food doesn't really appeal to me.

Today will be busy, busy, busy after school. I'll pack when I get home and then I need to make French cake batter to take with me to Maggie's. Woot.

K - well, best head out. No delay yet which sort of surprised me since it's about 3 degrees out with a negative wind chill. I'm not complaining though. I'd prefer no delay.

Happy Thursday! Two days to go. Later!
