Make For Sure

There's a reporter on one of our local stations that says, "Make for sure" instead of just saying, "Make sure". It's quite annoying. Here's what I want to know: When people say dufus things in a job where it actually matters, do their producers or bosses correct them? Do they sit them down and say, "Um...that's not the saying and you sound like a maroon!" Because I'm sure that there are people out there saying mean things on social media. (Unlike me who says it on my blog to the five people who read this.)

Here are some other common phrases that people f*%k up (take note in case you're one of the guilty ones):
  • Nip it in the butt vs. Nip it in the bud - you don't nip something in the butt - that would be harassment!
  • I could care less vs. I couldn’t care less - if you could care less then you care a little bit. Duh!
  • On accident vs. By accident - in case you don't know, it's BY accident. You can do something ON purpose but not ON accident. It's those tricky prepositions that I love so much.
  • Anyways vs. Anyway - THERE IS NO "S" IN ANYWAY!!! Come on!
Sorry - on my high horse. I've dismounted.

Plans for the day - I will be heading to Costco and the grocery this morning to do my Christmas Eve shop. That's about it. Jim is probably working 2nd shift tonight. He hasn't gotten an assignment for today as of yet so we'll see.

Yesterday I wrote a scathing email to the billing/thoracic department at UC for their ridiculous charge of $400 for a consult that was unnecessary. They claimed that we were well aware that we would be talking about a VATS. Total bullshit considering they made the appointment without even talking to Jim and I had to ask Becky and Dad what their thoughts were on what the appointment was for. Not to mention the doctor herself didn't even know a biopsy was scheduled and if it was, a VATS was unnecessary. Her apology for the confusion sort of clinches it, don't you think? I'm sure we'll get screwed and the final decision will go against us but we'll see.

What else? Nothing. Time for a French cake. Later!
