Will He or Won't He?

This post was written early this morning but Blogger was down. I was pissed but at least most of it was saved automatically. Anyway, I apologize.

So, will he or won't he...that is the question, I'm sure, on every one's mind...will Chris show today?! This is a big day because even if the whole tub doesn't get totally complete (piping set etc.) as long as the tub gets "set in" we can move on with the project. If it does not, we are, once again stuck. It will be interesting. And, I'll be really pissed if it doesn't because we're looking at rain most of the weekend which means Jim can't go traipsing off to do yard work at one of the 10 places he does it (excluding ours!) and he can focus totally on the bathroom.

In other news, my last IEP meeting was yesterday. Apparently, I skated out before all the crazy shit hit the fan. Remember, this was the meeting with the father who has 5 adopted boys? They're mostly special ed (you get more money from adoption services that way)? He shaves their heads when they've done something wrong? He's a preacher, doctor, lawyer, candlestick maker and oh yeah, a bus driver? (Oh, and new information from the meeting, he's now a cancer survivor...I'm sure next time we see him he'll inform us that he cured his own cancer).

Anyway, my IEP with the kid on my caseload was first - then I left to teach and Lisa then moved on with the brother. I was lucky enough to escape my meeting without the subject of my kid's apparent habit of "slapping his salami" being brought up. Lisa was not so lucky. I guess, in front of the brother (the kid on Lisa's caseload), "Daddy" brings up my kids issue as well as an issue with Lisa's kid that we were unaware of ("Daddy" says that he soils himself). He said this IN FRONT OF THE KID!!! WITH STRANGERS THERE!!! And it's not true!!! He did this for the benefit of the 3 women there from MRDD (Mental Retardation Developmental Disabilities) who are placing the boys into a transition program next year where they will go to work for half of their school day. Lisa ended up calling one of the MRDD ladies at the end of the day to explain all the bullshit lies that "daddy" like to lay out there. I mean one minute he's saying how retarded (his word) his boys are and the next he says, "Oh, but they can do what they want! If they want to go to college then they can do that." Crazy!

That was all that was saved...again, sorry!
