IKEA

Okay so Jim and I actually braved the new IKEA store today. I have to say, it was really neat and the crowds weren't bad at all. The place is so huge that the masses of people didn't seem like much. There was plenty of parking and aside from the morons that like to stop in the middle of an aisle without any thought to the fact that there are other people in the world besides themselves, it was a fun experience. We were able to get a bookcase that I liked (seen to your right) plus a bunch of kitchen gadgets (a new colander, whisk, cookie sheet) all under $3.00. I'll assemble the bookcase tomorrow and Jim will bolt it to the wall and then I'll take pictures so all can see. Anyway, if you go to IKEA, do it in the middle of the week. Don't wait until Saturday or Sunday because I suspect that is when the idiots come out.

The worst part of the whole field trip was the massive backup (all the way from the Rt. 42/Sharon Rd. exit to the Loveland exit) on 275 - about 6 miles. It ended up that there was a one-car accident and I can't imagine that anyone was able to survive it. I have never seen a car actually wrapped around a pole but they had to bring a crane in to remove it. It really left me speechless and a little sad. What made it worse too was that the paramedics and police were just standing around waiting for the crane to get the car off the pole and there was no hurry to get to any survivor, I'm guessing because there weren't any. I'll have to check the news to see if there's anything regarding the accident. Anyway, we sat there for about an hour. We're finally home and there is nothing on TV except Field of Dreams which of course we're watching (best baseball movie ever).

K - going to go read and think about my new bookcase. Later.
