Taste of Cincinnati

Well, I'm home from another successful Taste of Cincinnati! This year was better than it's been in a long while. First of all, they moved the location to Fountain Square which has made it roomier and they've lengthened it. There aren't as many pedestrian traffic jams though there are still those stupid, idiotic fools that like to stop in the middle of the "road" and chit chat or eat rather than moving off to the side so the population of Cincinnati can get by. As well, I didn't see many jacka$$ parents who bring their double-wide strollers with them and run over others feet or run into the backs of legs, or allow their kids to kick strangers. Another plus: The restaurants have lowered their prices. I was flabbergasted last year when I saw booths selling crap for $7. That is outrageous! This year, the highest price I saw was $5. AND the portions were unbelievable. I had a meatball sandwich from Pompilios that had two gigantic meatballs on a hoagie the length of my hand. Trip had a chicken teriyaki from Shanghai Mama's and it was a whole chicken breast.

I also had a potato pancake from Izzy's - it was good but nothing to shout about. Trip had yummy looking steak and shrooms from Outback and Jim's Zoomer from the Straus Haus was gigantic (hee hee, his zoomer's huge!)

We stayed for about 2 hours and then headed out to Costco for some essentials. We'll leave for dinner at Raeburn at about 4:30.

FYI Maggie - it certainly wasn't the same without you and I miss you like crazy. I wanted to share a beer with someone but since Jim isn't aloud to drink at these events anymore (especially after eating a zoomer and having a new car with cloth interior), there wasn't anyone else and it made me miss you cause I know you would've shared one with me. (My bottom lip is sticking out).
