Forgot To Mention

I realize there are a couple things I didn't remember to mention here on my blog...just little tidbits I meant to comment on.

  1. Mom posted on FB a few days ago about really liking Aaron Rodgers as guest host on Jeopardy. I meant to comment and say how much I agree. I didn't think I would to tell the truth. I had recently been a bit down on Aaron...just stupid rumors you hear about celebrities that probably aren't true (why do I fall for that shit) but then I watched him on Jeopardy and was quite impressed at his ease. He seems so comfortable in the role (yet not asleep at the wheel either). If he decides to retire from the NFL, maybe he could take over the spot permanently.
  2. My neighbors gave me a dozen eggs from their chickens last week and I meant to comment on them. Now, when she gave them to me, I asked if you could tell a difference and she said: Not so much with fried or scrambled but she could really tell with hard-boiled (much more creamy she said). So, last weekend I used them for our Saturday and Sunday breakfasts and I scrambled them. One thing I did notice about them was they were a LOT fluffier than regular eggs. Additionally, the whites were completely clear...not cloudy at all (not sure if that's because grocery store eggs are refrigerated and these don't need to be). The rest of the eggs, I hard-boiled and my neighbor is spot on! So creamy and delicious! They peel so easily as well. I told Jim we should get some chickens (joking) and Jim said, "We'll never see the dogs again if we do that." True story.
Those are really the only two things I forgot to mention. However, here are a couple updates on other things going on here in the Hanke household:
  • No news on the colonoscopy. They're supposed to call Jim to do a consult on the phone before scheduling. Hasn't happened yet and not sure why. Good thing he's not in pain anymore.
  • My dinner a la Maggie - Egg Roll Bowl - was delicious!!! Jim really liked it too!
  • Jim cleaned up the side yard yesterday and really did a good job. It's now ready for a fire pit I want to put in (where we can't grow grass) and it's ready to be seeded (where I can grow grass). We may start working on that this weekend. We have a big gift card from Menard's and I thought the money would be well spent buying pavers for the fire pit area. We'll see.
No other plans this weekend except I need to mow the front yard at some point. I've mowed the back yard twice but the front hadn't really needed it until now. The rain should hold off on Saturday so that's part of my plan. Who knows what else.

Okay well, time to get this day started so it can end! So happy it's Friday! So happy I'm another week closer to the end of the year. Happy Friday...have a great weekend! Stay safe and masked (don't listen to that dick Jim Jordan or Ted Cruz). Later!
