I forgot yesterday to update you all on Jim's saga. All is well, by the way. We went to our weekly appointment on Tuesday and after taking Jim off the cellcept the previous week, his levels are STILL coming down steadily. His liver enzymes are close to normal as is his bilirubin. His ammonia is still slightly elevated but it's close. Jim's now down to 10 mg pred twice a day and most likely when we see the doc/Jill next week, we'll go to 10 mg once per day. Woot! Or balls to the wall the doc will say, go off everything!
Additionally I mentioned to Jill the fact that I thought his insulin dosing wasn't quite right. I told her about Saturday's low sugar episode and explained how the endocrinologist was having Jim administer. Basically she said, "Nope! That's wrong" and put us on a new scale. Basically, Jim's sugar is leveling out and all he's having to do is take his time-released stuff and check his levels before meals and bed. If his levels are above 200, he corrects; otherwise, nothing. So far, he's only had to administer the time-released...his sugar has been in the 120s (or lower) consistently. YAY!
Jim's ankles are back to normal as well. The swelling and edema is completely gone and he can now wear normal shoes! (As opposed to his Crocs which is all he could wear for months...even to Eddie Merlots with dress pants.)
School is fine. No big deal. Today I have to do a manifestation determination for a kid who was caught taking pills and then suspended. That's at 2:00 and hopefully won't take long and I can scoot. Stupid kid making me do extra freaking paperwork. Jerk!
And that's all I've got. March Madness (the real games) start today. I filled out a bracket and have Villanova winning everything. I don't know shit about basketball but hey - I can fill a bracket out as well as anyone.
K - Happy Thursday! So happy tomorrow is Friday! One more week until Spring Break! Later!
