Happy New Year!!!

Cheers to 2016! Woot! I actually made it to midnight last night! Can you believe it? Jim, however, did not. Oh well.

So we ate last night around 7:00 and I have to toot my own horn here because dinner was incredible! My filet mignon was perfection. The recipe/method for cooking (thank you Maggie and the Barefoot Contessa) is completely foolproof. Melt in your mouth tender. My mushroom barley bake was delicious as well.

After dinner, Cari came over for a bit. Her husband, Jordan, got called in to work (he's a fire fighter) so she was alone. We had a few beers and then she headed out around 10:00. At this point, Jim went to bed and I stayed up to continue my binge watching of The Newsroom. I'm sad that I'm in the last 5 episodes of the series. I'll have to find something else to get hooked on. Although, once school starts back up, I won't have the time and I'll have Downton Abbey to keep me entertained.

Today will be another day of lounging. We'll take the decorations down - sad - and just hang. I'll make pork and sauerkraut and that's about it.

Oh, so I bought Jimmy a Kindle yesterday. He had mentioned wanting one and it was $50 for a Kindle Fire...so what the hell. He'll love it, I'm sure. Most likely, he'll use it for reading news and so on. I think it's high time for Jimmy to take a walk with technology.
