Ahhh!!!
I am officially on vacation. My last day of school was yesterday and I don't have to be back until Tuesday the 18th. From then on, school will be at its most hectic. With spring IEPs, exams and the 108 students we will have to hand schedule, I will be ready for summer, I'm sure within a week of being back from spring break. But, until then, I'll not think about it, although I will have to work over break, but TODAY, I won't think about it.
My plans? Well, mom is coming in town today. Yeah! She will stay with Anne to spend time with her and the kids then come to my house on Monday (I think) morning. We, then will go to my cousin Lisa's house to see my Aunt Sister and hang with her for the day. After that, we'll probably just hang out.
Sunday is the semi-annual Spaghetti/Ravioli dinner at Sacred Heart. Jim and I used to go and meet Terri and her family there but for the last 2 years we haven't made it. If my mother doesn't come to our house until Monday, then we are going to go. We usually get there at 11:30 to wait in line until the "dinner" starts at about noon. We then get shuffled into a large gymnasium, turned "restaurant" just so we can be subjected to the worst service ever in order to eat pasta and drink an un"godly" amount of wine (not good wine - I'm pretty sure it's communion wine) all before 1:00. I love it. It's so funny too because you can purchase the ravioli to take home and freeze so people bring bags of tupperware with them.
Often after, the gang goes to Murphy's Pub in Clifton where much beer drinking is done while those who wish to partake in such games as pool, pinball, darts and MegaTouch can. Since I'm off Monday, I hope this will occur since I'm usually too much of a loser to have this kind of fun.
Menu for the week (I make a menu every Saturday for the week and shop that day)
Saturday: Pacific Rim Burgers with zucchini and squash sauteed in mushrooms and onions
Sunday: Hamburgers with baked beans and Potatoes
Monday: Chicken Stir-fry Wraps and rice
Tuesday: Cajun-Chicken with peppers and Fettucini
Wednesday: Double-Dipped Chicken fingers with fries and cole slaw
Thursday: Pasta bag with a salad and bread
Friday: Steak Diane (in salute to my friend - hee hee) with broccoli and baked potatoes.
Delicious.
Anyway, that's all I have for now. I hope to have a great stress-free week.
