Nostalgic!

I'm at an age where a lot of my friends and "friends" on FB are sending their kids off to college for the first time and it is making me so nostalgic! What a fun time for these kids. I remember going off to Boston and moving into my dorm and getting to know these near total strangers (except my roommate who was one of my BFs from high school) and learning the campus and city and going to classes and just enjoying being there and on my own. I had so much fun! I say all the time that I wouldn't want to go back in time because I love my life now but I would go back to that one year. Jim and I keep saying we're going to go back to Boston to visit our old stomping ground (he lived there for a year before we met as well) and we need to jump on that! {Sigh}

Well, I made it through this week and here we are at Friday. There were a couple times yesterday where I wasn't sure I was going to make it but (science class) but here we are. I'm most likely going to be showing movies for history and science because I don't think I have it in me to try and teach some of these kids anything new today that they just won't get while they look at me with vacant looks in their eyes. It's just so disheartening when I'm trying to teach and I ask a question and I get a raised hand and I think, "Someone knows the answer to my questions about the Homestead Act!" But instead, I get a kid asking if he can eat his snack, or go to their locker to put an empty Ziploc bag in it or fill of their already half full water bottle or sharpen their pencil that's already sharp or drink their Capri Sun. ARG!!! All these things have happened and yesterday was he pinnacle of circus! So yes, today we need movie day! Am I going to be able to handle this for the rest of the year?! Who's to say! I may have to get more vigorous in my lottery play.

So the weekend is not too busy, although we do have dinner plans for Saturday. I'm excited to try Bite! Other than that, I have things around here to do - mow lawn, clean etc. - but is should be a pretty low key weekend.

Okay I need to get a move on. Happy Friday! Later!
