Day Two

I won't count past today, I promise. That would be so tedious.

Yesterday, as first days go, was fine. A couple of stupid meetings that were way too long and needless. My building meeting was pretty painful. Not to knock my administrator - he's okay even though I bitch about him a fair amount...my biggest beef is he's a puss (can't have a one on one convo with a teacher) - but he's just not a good public speaker. He tries really hard - which makes it even sadder - but he's just not inspiring. I think he's motivated by what inspires himself but that doesn't speak to others. Not to mention the fact that he constantly talks a mile a minute so you catch every 5th word or so and he is constantly moving so that he's turning away from his audience, making hearing/understanding what he says even more difficult. Needless to say, I lose focus and stop listening about 2 minutes into every "speech" he gives.

Anyway - yesterday was fine...nothing too unexpected. Today will be spent at my desk all day long. I'll be eating at my desk as well with the hope that I get what needs to be done, done. I'm going to do things a bit differently this year to try and make my prep a little easier but I still have lots to do. I got some things done yesterday but didn't have much consistent time to spend on stuff.

The pups got lucky yesterday. Jim went to work and then had to come home for a while because the rooms he was to be painting weren't ready (ceiling guys still working). So, he ended up hanging with the boys until about 1:00 so when I got home they weren't nuts. I managed to put an hour on the elliptical which made me very happy. I'm hoping that today, Jim will get home relatively early and the rain stops so I can take a lovely bike ride. We'll see.

And that's about all I've got today. I don't expect any parent visits today which is good. Should be an easy, though hectic day. Hope yours is as well.
