Perfect 4th

Yesterday was a great day because A) I got to swim and play volleyball and relax with the fam and B) I was home in time to have some Chinese takeout with Jimmy, hang with pups, binge on some Scandal and still be in bed pretty early.

In terms of the fireworks and pups, Scout did great. He wasn't bothered at all. Boo, however was a bit stressed. When the booms started, he started whining a bit with a couple barks thrown in here and there. So...I decided to put the gate up at the bedroom d0or and open their cages so they could do what they wanted. Scout ended up staying in his cage and sleeping. Boo, went under the bed and was there most of the night. They both got up around 2:30 to lick our faces and I managed to wrangle Scout back into his cage (door closed) but Boo dove back under the bed. Which meant around 4:30 he wanted some more kisses so he then had to go into his cage and we all slept until 6:30. Silly boys.

So today I will be doing a big clean of the house, laundry, organizing those things to take north and then I'll start writing out stuff for Diane. Tomorrow I'll go to the grocery and get the final stuff ready and packed. Can't wait to just be there.

It's still crazy steamy here in Ohio...one more day of this soupy, sticky crap. I took the boys on a long walk yesterday so today they'll just be entertaining (chasing) each other in the backyard. So far they've done about 35 laps.

Finished two books in the last couple days: The Alice Network (really good - about women spies during WWI) and Woman in the Window (about an agoraphobic who witnesses something she shouldn't have...it's also going to be made into a movie with Amy Adams). I'm now reading The Women in the Castle (takes place during WWII about women resistance fighters in Nazi Germany). I also have the latest Lisa Genova book (she wrote Still Alice) which is about a guy diagnosed with ALS...I look forward to reading that...she's a really good writer.

And that's all I've got. Time to get my jobs done so I can relax and read! Happy Thursday! Later!
