Workday

First - HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISA!!!  I know how much it must suck to have one of the first days of the school year almost ALWAYS on your birthday but think of it this way:  You get to spend the day with friends!  Hope today is a great one and no one pisses you off! (Thought you might like a little George on your b-day.)

So today is our workday and I can't believe with everything I need to get done, I actually slept last night.  I didn't even think about all the shit that was waiting for me at work when I laid my head on the pillow last night.  That is a miracle and hopefully a preview of my year (good sleep with no worries).  That being said - here's all I have to do:
  • Copy hundreds of shit for student folders - all of which is specific to their reading level. I have several new students - freshmen - so I'll have to contact their former teachers or figure out what their levels are.  This is always a crap shoot because their former teachers usually don't give great feedback...ugh.
  • Send out all IEPs for all students on my caseload to all their teachers
  • Prepare US History folders
  • Meet with teachers who have my troubled student in their class
  • Prepare my own personal folder that I keep with me at all times.  It has all my study hall info as well as phone numbers (need to update that) etc.
  • Figure out my lessons for the first week. (I hate the first week of school)
  • Put in for my personal day on Monday (I actually need to do that first thing)
  • Prepare plans for Monday
That's actually all I can think of right now.  Not too bad.

In other news - I'm excited for Friday!  PIB here I come.  I hope this isn't the last time I'm up this year but who knows.

Eva called me last night and told me she missed me and loved me.  It was so sweet.  We actually had a little conversation.  She told me she was watching Gruffalo...so cute - she used to be afraid of that movie...I can kinda see why.

Okay - need to get a move on.  Later!
