Ugh! Its 5:30 and I have to head to work NOW!!! I have no idea what I'm doing today for my English class. I have two weeks until exams which means I really only have one full week where I should be teaching anything new. I'm thinking about actually showing a movie and then having them take an exam on that. The reason is three-fold: 1) I hate making exams 2) I have a new student who hasn't read the novel that we've spent the last 6 weeks on and 3) Doing this would assist the kids with their comprehension as well as writing (provided I had a short essay on it). The problem in doing this is that if one student is sick one time, then they have missed a part of the movie for the exam. Although I could have them watch on my computer with headphones later. Ugh! What to do. If I do it, I will have them watch "It's a Wonderful Life". Good opportunities for broadening their horizons, doing something fun and avoiding having to make a "regular" exam. I'm so lame.
Other than that, I am dreading the next three weeks. Thanksgiving break always leaves me wanting/needing more time off and having to wait 3 weeks sucks. I'm not really complaining . I know most people - non-teachers - aren't as lucky as those of us with summers off, winter break, Spring break etc. I still don't understand why more people aren't teachers. I guess because kids can be a huge pain in the ass - especially when they aren't yours.
K - must stop screwing around and get to work so I can figure out what I'm teaching my students. Back to the grind.

Since Thanksgiving was so early this year, we have 4 weeks until Christmas break. Suckity, Suck, Suck, Suck!!!
