Boy, Do I Need a Vacation!

"A vacation!?" you ask. "Aren't you on vacation?"
Why, yes, technically, I am on summer vacation - from work. I guess what I really mean is that I need to get away. "Away? Aren't you ever satisfied?" (I could go on forever but, my pinky is getting tired from having to reach for the quotation marks). Anyway, Jim and I are leaving for Put-in-Bay on Monday and I have to say, I can't wait. I just want to get somewhere other than here where I don't have to listen to a phone ring, or think about the stresses of late and I see my husband for more than an hour a day (of course by next Saturday, I'll probably be writing about my need to get away from Jim but I digress.) You see, Jim has been working his tail off and hasn't been home until after 8 most nights (gone by 7) and the weather hasn't been cooperative for him and he's totally stressed which means that I'm a tad stressed, not to mention the rigors of our daily lives recently.

To tell you the truth, maybe he hasn't even been coming home. Hmm...well, no, that's right, he has been home because I've seen his pants sitting by the chair in the family room. "His pants?" Yes, his pants. You see, Jim has a habit, or should I call it an annoying quirk of walking in the door after a days work and dropping trou wherever he happens to be. Now, you may ask: Isn't this bothersome to you Muir? HELL YES IT IS!!! I mean, I'm appreciative of my husband wanting to walk around the house without his pants on, I mean, that is what you should be able to do in your own home (unless there's company, then it's only fitting that you show some respect) but we don't live in a mansion; it isn't far to either the laundry room or his own room (where all his clothes are - we don't have separate bedrooms - the marriage is fine) and the maid isn't likely to pick up after him (I'm usually off the clock by the time he gets home from work). So, yeah, it's a little annoying. But I guess that's what love is: never having to pick up your britches that you've left in the middle of the family room after a long days work.

(Do you think I need some time away?)

And, the weather here sucks!!! It's rainy and cold and all I want to do is sit on the couch and read my book when I should be getting ready for the trip. Speaking of Trip...and Susan, thanks for the ice cream. Explanation: Trip and Ghetto Susan, my awesome brother and my awesome sister-in-law brought me GRAETER'S today!!! You're all jealous. Suckers! I Think I'll eat some. Later.

I hope you had fun in PIB. I had an awesome time in Canada. The weather was miserable (until the day we left, which is so typical) but, like you in PIB, just being there is enough. It is so peaceful! Talk to you later!
