I'm reading the Secret Life of Bees with the kids. Here's a question w/the answer that I got from our favorite writer - let's call her Emily (as in Dickinson since, lets face it, neither of them really make/made a lot of sense):
Question: What act did President Johnson sign (and I give page numbers where the answers are).
The answer should have been the Civil Rights Act
Emily answered: The have rights to be turd
I’m sure it was correct in her mind but I have no idea what “turd” is. I gave her the credit anyway...I'll ask her today what the f*%k a turd is. Hey and at least she spelled "turd" right...if she meant an actual turd that is...and then I'll have to mark it wrong...ugh!
In other news, I'm running late because I blew my hair dry and I have my former favorite student coming in to observe! Yeah!!! Can't wait to see her (Amanda).

You're awesome for giving her credit. I was a student teacher for awhile and kids are nuts. Just insane.
